Recipes wanted

The Clarion is seeking recipes to include in its Wednesday Food section. Send recipes to news@peninsulaclarion.com, fax them to 283-3299 or drop them by the office at 150 Trading Bay Drive in Kenai. Name, address, contact number and brief description of how you came up with or came by the recipe is needed. For more information, call Nan Misner at 335-1241 or e-mail her at nancianna.misner@peninsulaclarion.com.

Recipes will be printed in the order received and as space is available.

Immunizations available

The Kenai Public Health Center at 630 Barnacle Way, Kenai, provides walk-in immunization services from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Thursdays at the Soldotna Cottonwood Clinic. For more information call 335-3400.

Electronics recycling event plugs in

The annual central Kenai Peninsula electronics recycling event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kenai Peninsula Borough Landfill site at Mile 98.5 south of Soldotna. Materials accepted include computers and components, TV's, cameras, card machines, phones, small appliances, old tapes and disks.

Household fees are $15 per vehicle with up to three monitors. Businesses and non-profits will be charged 25 cents per pound. There is a charge for extra monitors and TVs.

Items not accepted are exit signs, smoke detectors and vacuums. To schedule an appointment or to volunteer, call Jan at 262-5098.

School programs begin

Tot Time and Home-school programs are held at the Kenai Recreation Center on the following days:

Tot Time will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays. The cost will be $1 for youth ages 1 to 5 years old.

Home-school will be held from 12:30 from 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays. The cost will be $1 per child.

Nikiski pool activities announced

The Nikiski pool will hold the following events:

* Water aerobics are held from 7:45 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

* Semi-private swim classes will held Dec. 1-11. Sign-ups are ongoing.

T-200 planning meeting slated

The T-200 dog sled race planning committee meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Nov 19 and Dec 17 at Tustumena Elementary School.
