Curves supports breast cancer awareness
Curves in Kenai is encouraging all women to have annual mammograms and perform monthly breast self-exams during national breast cancer awareness month. Women who bring in a mammogram that was performed within the last year, or those who make a $25 donation to the American Cancer Society, will be waived from paying a service fee when they join Curves during one of the last three weeks of October.
Participating Curves will make available a breast self-exam kit, which makes the exam process more sensitive for detecting unusual lumps. For every kit sold, Curves will donate one to a woman who can't afford one. For more information, call Juline Arestad at 335-2787.
