Ross, Horstman announce nuptials
Julia Ross and Alan Horstman Jr. were married in an afternoon ceremony, Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Soldotna Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna. Tom Landess officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Ron and Gina Ross, Jan Cross, all of Soldotna and Kevin Kay, of Kenai. She is a 2001 graduate of Kenai Central High School. Julia is a stay-at-home mother. She wore an ivory and champagne colored beaded lace trumpet gown with an empire waist, cap sleeves and a chapel train. She wore a matching veil and ivory heels. The maid of honor was the bride's best friend Lindsey Wahl. Lindsey wore a chocolate brown chiffon floor length dress with a ruched bust and shirred bodice detail. Bridesmaids were best friend Holly Riggins, and the bride's sister-in-law Leslie Ross. The groom's daughter, Annie, served as a junior bridesmaid. All of the bride's attendants wore matching chiffon chocolate brown floor length dresses. The flower girl was the groom's youngest daughter, Caeton. She wore a white satin dress with a beaded bodice.
The groom is the son of Alan Horstman Sr. of Scio, Ore., and Annette and Mont Cray of Fairbanks. He is a 1989 graduate of North Pole High School. He graduated with a degree in industrial process instrumentation and computer electronics from Kenai Peninsula College in 1993. Alan is employed as turbine controls technician for BP on the North Slope. The groom's good friend Bob Sorenson served as the best man and groomsmen included good friend of the groom, Steve Roushar and the bride's brother, Kyle Ross. The bride's youngest brother, Austin Kay, was the usher. The ring bearer was the couple's 2-year-old son, Haedyn.
The reception was held at the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center.
The couple plan to honeymoon in Hawaii at a later date.
They make their home in Soldotna.
