Light earthquake shakes area near Cape Yakataga


PALMER (AP) -- A light earthquake rattled the area near Cape Yakataga on the Gulf of Alaska coast early Monday morning.

There were no reports of any damage or injuries.

The Tsunami Warning Center in Palmer said the magnitude 4.2 quake occurred at 7 a.m. and was centered about 20 miles northeast of Cape Yaktaga. That's about 280 miles southeast of Anchorage.
