The Peninsula Oilers defeated Athletes in Action 12-1 Wednesday night in Alaska Baseball League play in Fairbanks.

It was the second straight victory for the Oilers, and also the second straight night the Oilers set a season high for runs scored in a game.

A number of Oilers had big nights at the plate. Adrian Schau was 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs, Chris Kolkhorst was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs and Paul Janish had two RBIs.

The Oilers scored early and often in the game, getting five runs in the first inning and six runs in the seventh inning.

Oilers pitcher Tim Gorski benefited from all the offensive heroics, picking up the victory. Alan Orgain took the loss for the Oilers.

Peninsula will wrap up its ABL schedule today with a doubleheader against Fairbanks starting at 4 p.m. The games can be heard on 1140 AM KSLD.
