In Saturday's game, the Oilers had eight hits to the Miners' five.
All eight of Peninsula's hits came from the first four spots in the order, so the Oilers stranded 11 runners on the day.
The Pilots jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on Oilers starter and loser Ty Dunham. Dunham had three walks and a hit batter in the inning, but settled down after that and allowed five runs in eight innings of work.
The Oilers cut the gap to 4-3 in the top of the third inning on a two-RBI single by Chad Tracy and a fielder's choice RBI by David Newby.
In the sixth inning, the Oilers had two runners thrown out at the plate trying to tie the game.
John Hester followed that with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth to give the Miners more cushion.
Alex Trafton picked up the win on the mound for the Miners.
In Friday's game, Oilers starter Ty Davis improved his record to 5-1 by pitching a shutout. Davis allowed five hits and two walks while striking out five. At one point, Davis retired 15 straight Glacier Pilots.
With Davis sparkling on the mound, Jake Kahaulelio gave the Oilers all the offense they would need when he hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning.
The Oilers completed their season series with the Pilots with a 6-1 record.
The Oilers face the Anchorage Bucs today at 2 p.m.
