Sunday help flat-out appreciated

On June 21, while traveling back to Homer from Seward on a girls' weekend, we were unfortunate to have a blown tire on one of the trucks we were driving. We made it as far as Fred Meyer's parking lot and decided to try a can of fix a flat.

After several attempts at fixing it ourselves we decided we needed help. We called around to several places but knew we would be out of luck since it was Sunday and Father's Day.

We came across a phone number and figured it was worth a try. The man on the other end probably wasn't thrilled about the prospect of leaving his house and chores to change a tire, but showed up as promised within 20 minutes. Since he deals with big truck tires he didn't have a spare, but within another 30 minutes he found one, put it on the rim and back on the truck

The seven women just trying to get home after a memorable weekend could never thank him enough. So if you see Rick's Tire & Repair truck around town give him a wave and a smile. He is an honest and decent man that restored our faith in the fact that there are still people out there willing to help someone out. Thanks Rick, we cannot thank you enough.
