Jewell Briggs is the daughter of Dr. Amber and Bruce Briggs. She says she is grateful to my teachers, parents, friends, and mentors who have helped her reach this point in her life. Jewell is the oldest of six and is grateful to her siblings for challenging her to become better and to lead by example. Originally from the Southside of Chicago, Jewell moved to Alaska during the summer of 2004. Alaska has afforded her the opportunity to expand her world view and participate in a smaller, closer knit community. This coming fall, she will attend Loyola University in Chicago as a biochemistry major, while completing pre-medical requirements.
