Teen Night is Friday at 8:15 p.m. at the Nikiski Recreation Community Center. Call Rachel Parra for more information at 776-8800.

Nikiski Drama Camp is scheduled for June 20 through July 1. Times are 10 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. On July 2 at 7 p.m. there will be performance of the kids production.

The camp will teach stagecraft skills, acting, set building, musical performance and stage movement. There is a $99 fee. Scholarships are available. For more information and to register, call Joe Rizzo at 283-6109.

The Nikiski pool will offer swimming lessons during June. Classes are competitive swim, junior lifeguard (ages 10-14), diving, tiny tots (6 months to 3 years), beginners, advanced beginners and intermediate. A CPR class also will be offered. For more information, call Nigel LaRiccia at 776-8800.

An American Red Cross Lifeguard Class will be offered at the pool June 1 through 4. The schedule for the class is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday's class is from 8 a.m. to noon. Participants must be at least 15 years old.

New times are set at the Nikiski Recreation Community Center for June and July. Adult open gym is Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m.; toddler time is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and teen night will be the second and fourth Fridays of each month from 8 to 11 p.m. For more information, call 776-8800.

The Nikiski Senior Citizens Center will be closed Sunday and Monday in observance of Memorial Day. It will be back to its regular schedule Tuesday.

Did you know there were 308 hours volunteered at the senior center in April? Kudos to those who gave of their time and talents.
