Donald Jess Reetz
Donald Jesse Reetz of Eugene, Ore., formerly of Ninilchik and Soldotna, died Thursday, May 1, 2008. He was 86.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Murphy Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City, Ore.
Mr. Reetz was born Jan. 13, 1922, in Junction City to Wilbur and Edna Reetz.
"Donald worked hard all his life. He worked at Boeing aircraft, logging, lumber mill, commercial fishing and farming. At one time he was the largest strawberry farmer in Oregon," his family said. He worked at roofing, siding and was a fishing charter guide in the Cook Inlet. He moved to Oregon in 2003.
Mr. Reetz was preceded in death by his parents; son, Eddie; and sisters, Mildred and Maxine.
He is survived by his brother, Leo Reetz and his wife, Birdie; wife, Neta Reetz; step-daughters, Renna Hass and her husband, Bill, and Colleen Brock; former wife, Marjorie Peterson, and their children, Kathleen Lloyd, Dave Reetz and his wife, Karen, Larry Reetz and his wife, Carol, and Kelly Reetz and his wife, Kyla; 12 grand children; and 22 great-grandchildren.
