ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A Talkeetna man has pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography, federal prosecutors said.

John Adams, 23, was charged in October with using his personal computer to download about 15,000 images of child pornography. He entered the guilty plea Monday in U.S. District Court.

Investigators were tipped off to Adams' stash of pornography by the Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a national clearinghouse for information on missing children and the prevention of child victimization.

Adams faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. His sentencing hearing was scheduled for July 25.
