Troop 1616 Scoutmaster Pat Dobson surveys the view from the top of the 12 foot tower that his troop built at the Peninsula Center Mall during the 2008 Scout-O-Rama on April 26. It took the troop two hours to complete the structure. The older scouts lead the activity and helped the younger ones with the techniques and the knots. Troop 1616 was awarded a ribbon for its display and each scouter received a patch for attending the event. Troop members in attendance were leaders Scoutmaster Pat Dobson and assistant scoutmasters Marvin Frederickson, Jeff Sisson and Robin Barry. Scouts from Troop 1616 in attendance were Mark West, Beau Sisson, Zach Daly, Tyler Dobson, Daniel Barry and Elijah Frederickson. Troop 1616 is open to boys, ages 11 to 17. It meets at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at the Soldotna Church of Christ on the Sterling Highway.
