Many contribute to great evening for senior citizens

"Let me call you sweetheart" were the words of the beautiful and timeless song welcoming senior citizens to the 15th annual Senior Sweetheart Dinner on Feb. 28 hosted by Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ. It was the beginning of an evening of fun and a delicious four-course dinner. The successful evening could not have been possible without the help and generosity of our community. Many thanks are deserved and we wish to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the following: Tammy's Flowers and Soldotna Florist for their donations of beautiful floral centerpieces; and Alaska Cab and drivers Patty, Patrick and Curtis for the time and care in helping to transport some of our guests.

It also would not have been possible to have residents attend from the various homes and care facilities throughout the Kenai Peninsula, including Seward, Homer, Kenai and Soldotna, without the dedicated staff from each place. Special thanks go to Dennis and Pat Murray and the staff of Heritage Place in Soldotna; Helen Ware, Evelyn Myddleton, Tom Baker and staff from Forget-Me-Not in Kenai; Kimberly Lemley, Joye Sarka and Susan and staff from Providence Wesley Rehabilitation and Care Center in Seward; Pat Doyle, Judy Calhoun and staff from Friendship Terrace in Homer; and Jodi Reed and staff at Harbor Lights House Assisted Living in Soldotna.

Thanks to each and every one and all of the caring volunteers that made this evening such a special and memorable time for each and every one of our guests.

Carri Rossini, Diane Gerber, Rachel Thorpe, Rick Birch and Liz Howarth Volunteers of the Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ
