* Triumvirate Theatre will hold its third annual play contest. Four teams of kids from kindergarten to age 12 will compete each with their own one act play Saturday. Shows start at 1 p.m. The price of admission is $5 per person. Plays are suitable for all audiences. For more information, visit www.triumviratetheatre.org or call 776-8669.
* Art Students' League and the Kenai Peninsula College Showcase will host Band Aid II, a benefit for the Kenai Senior Center, at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Ward Building at the college. A runway fashion show featuring original designs created from 100 percent organic hemp fiber materials by Mountain Mamma Originals, owned by Susan Evans, local artist and clothing designer will he held. Door prizes will be given. The concert will be held at 6 p.m. Featured artists will include Katie Evans, Vickie Tinker, Chris Pepper, Brandon Pilatti, Dave Edwards-Smith, Dan Pascucci, Sara Superman, Robb Justice, Dan Grant, Lee Johnson, John Landua, Dick Weaver, Mellissa Glaves, The Hats and Charmers Daughters. The suggested donation is $10 at the door for the fashion show and the concert. Snacks will be provided by the Student Union.
Events and Exhibits
* The Art Extravaganza provides a great opportunity for the community to get a feel for the arts program at the college. It will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the commons area of the Brockel building ? the opposite end of the building from the Band Aid II events. A lecture/slideshow presentation titled "KPC Arts at a Glance," will be followed immediately with a reception for the closing of the annual KRC student art show. There will also be an exhibition of the Senior Art Portrait Project that pairs KRC art students with resident seniors from the Kenai Senior Center. The students create original drawings of their senior "partner" for the exhibition. This is the third exhibition of the Senior Art Portrait Project that began as a component of KRC's service learning mission that takes students into the community as part of their course work. The Extravaganza will close with a walking tour of the permanent art installations on campus where plaques that describe the pieces will be unveiled.
* Artist Without Borders will present a show of impressionistic paintings by French artist Richard Bornengo of Kasilof from 5 to 7 p.m. today upstairs at the 4-D Interiors conference room on the corner of Marydale and the Kenai Spur Highway.
* Art Works in Soldotna will host the Kenai Peninsula College's spring digital photography students in digital color, intermediate and experimental photography. An art opening will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Techniques will range from digital infra-red and solarization, Polaroid emulsion transfers, darkroom prints from digital negatives, black and white landscape, expressive color abstracts, portraits and color landscape. The show will run through the end of the month.
* Kaladi Brothers Artist of the Month is Ben Sampson.
* Kenai Fine Arts Center will host an artists reception at 6:30 p.m. for "Small Shots" photography exhibit.
* The Kasilof Historical Society's cabin museum is open from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays or by appointment. It has historical displays and area artists and crafters are invited to display their work on weekends. The cabin is at Mile 1.5 Kalifornsky Beach Road. For more information, call Dave at 262-5125.
* The Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center at 11471 Kenai Spur Highway displays animal mounts, historic items and Alaska Native artifacts. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, call 283-1991.
* The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center on Ski Hill Road outside Soldotna shows films on wildlife, the refuge and the history of the area daily at noon, 1, 2, 3 and 4 p.m.

* AmVets Post No. 4 in the Red Diamond Center on Kalifornsky Beach Road has karaoke at 8 p.m. Saturday and blind darts at 2:30 p.m. Sundays.
* Bluegrass jam sessions at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. On the first Thursday of the month sessions are at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna.
* Hooligan's in Soldotna has music by the Free Beer Band on Monday nights, karaoke Wednesday nights, 150 Grit on Thursday nights and live music Friday and Saturday nights.
* Kaladi Brothers in Soldotna will host Mike Morgan at 6:30 p.m. Friday; and Nancy Anderson will play at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

* The Pratt Museum in Homer will host "Kachemak Bay: An Exploration of People and Place," a redesign of the museum's main galleries, with Phase I completed in 2004. Community-based videos, photo essays, computer interactives, and visitor-controlled remote video technology will visitors beyond the museum walls to historic and contemporary life around Kachemak Bay, providing an intimate means of understanding people and place; "Concerning Climate Change," an art and science collaboration exploring the ways in which people affect the environment and how they can affect change. The exhibit is a part of the museum's year-long initiative to help the community and visitors understand and respond to environmental change. It will be on display through May.
