Kenai Peninsula residents can participate in a national seminar on leadership featuring renowned leaders from a variety of fields on Friday.

"The Qualities of a Leader" will be the topic of the Maximum Impact satellite broadcast from Atlanta, Ga. Among the featured speakers will be John C. Maxwell, author of more than 40 books and founder of Maximum Impact, a company dedicated to developing leaders; Steven Reinemund, chair and CEO of PepsiCo Inc.; Michael Duke, president and CEO of Wal-Mart Stores (USA); Zig Ziglar, a motivational expert and author of more than 23 books; Coach Pat Summitt of the University of Tennessee, known as the "winningest female coach in basketball history"; former UCLA Coach John Wooden, "the winningest coach in basketball history"; and leaders from West Point.

The seminar will be Friday at the Soldotna Church of God at the corner Binkley and Redoubt streets. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with the program starting at 9 a.m. and continuing until 5 p.m. The cost is $39. Because of limited seating, early registration is recommended and can be made by calling 262-4729.

The seminar will appeal to business owners and managers, as well as anyone else who leads people, said Alan Humphries, pastor of the Soldotna Church of God.

The seminar will provide plenty of motivation, inspiration and information on leadership development and strategies from the experts, he said.
