Sterling Head Start

This week, students began a discussion on insects. The lessons taught addressed different insects and their body parts, how some insects move or fly and where different ones live. Papa Brien built carry-all boxes for each student to collect bugs, toys or anything they choose. He also donated his time to help each child paint their own works of art on the carry-all totes. Janice from Cooperative Extension Service visited both the classrooms to give a presentation on bugs and shared a lot of fun facts.

The school is preparing orders for student T-shirts for the end-of-the-year celebration. Adult T-shirts with "Sterling Head Start" embroidered on them also are available. For more information or to place an order, call Melissa at 260-7446.

The school currently is accepting enrollment applications for this summer and the 2004-05 school year.
