Soldotna Montessori Charter

Students in Mrs. Larned's class had interesting discussions about Earth Day and what each student can do to try to keep the world a clean and healthy place. Students have been picking up trash on their way to and from the Soldotna Library as a public service. Several recycling projects were presented at last week's Family Fun Night. Thanks to all who helped with this fund-raiser.

SMCS will sponsor a math workshop for staff and families from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday staff development room. Participants are asked to R.S.V.P.

SMCS still is collecting non-perishable foods for the Hunger Free America campaign. The drive will end Friday.

Mrs. Sotelo's class will host a wildlife fair Friday in the Borough Building.

The last parent meeting of the year and academic policy committee elections will be from 6 to 7 p.m. May 11 in the Soldotna Elementary School gym. Parents who are interested in becoming a part of the APC may submit a letter of interest to the school by May 1.

The last day of school is May 27. There will be an all-family, all-school picnic and field day at the Soldotna Creek Park. If you can help in any way, contact any member of the APC or Lisa Dehlbom.
