Donation makes big difference to vocational education at KPC
Many thanks to Bob Favretto and Kenai Chrysler Center for the continued generous support of vocational education on the Kenai! Mr. Favretto recently presented a donation of $10,000 to Kenai Peninsula College Director Gary Turner. These funds, proceeds from the Kenai Chrysler Open golf tournament, are earmarked by Mr. Favretto to improve vocational education opportunities for peninsula students.
Last year's golf tournament donation from Mr. Favretto and Kenai Chrysler ($15,000) allowed KPC to equip our industrial welding students with state-of-the-art positive-pressure filtered air welding helmets which greatly improve safety, comfort and speed of learning in KPC's structural and pipe welding programs.
This year's donation will purchase equipment and software to allow completion of the new distributed control system in KPC's process simulator-instrumentation lab.
On behalf of KPC's students and instructors, thanks again to Mr. Favretto for his commitment to education and the community. It makes a difference.
