Alaskans on receiving end of credit card e-mail scam

Buyer, beware! There is an e-mail scam circulating the Internet and it involves Alaskans which hold Citi Card accounts. The e-mail is coming from a SilviaSuitt@Venco.com and can come from others associated.

I have spoken to Citi Cards to report the fraudulent e-mail and was instructed to destroy the e-mail as soon as possible and to inform others in the community to be on alert.

Citi Cards is already investigating and is aware of the scam. The e-mail has a very convincing background, using Citi Card's logo. The link instructs consumers to input their 16 digit credit card number and the pin number they use in any ATM machine.

You can report receiving the e-mail to Citi Cards at 1-800-950-5114.

Hopefully, no one in our community will be a victim of fraud from this circulation. Tell everyone that you know! Keep your Social Security number, driver's li-cense number and credit card numbers safe.

Danielle Williamson, Kenai
