Senior centers offer activities for visitors
Traveling senior citizens are welcome to stop by one of the seven senior centers on the Kenai Peninsula for lunch or a visit.
Here is where you'll find them.
Kenai Senior Center, 361 Senior Court. It's open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Lunch is served at noon; $8 for nonseniors and nonmembers. Call 283-4156.
Soldotna Senior Center, 197 W. Park Ave. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Lunch is served at noon. There is a requested donation of $6 for out-of-state, nonmember visitors and $4 for Alaska residents. Call 262-2322.
Homer Senior Center, 3935 Svedlund. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. The fee is $4 for people 60 and over and $7 for people under 60. Call 235-7655.
Nikiski Senior Center, Mile .75 of Island Lake Road. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Salad bar opens at 11:30 a.m., lunch is served at noon; the cost is $3 for seniors and $5 for guests. Call 776-7654.
Ninilchik Senior Center, off Kingsley at 66265 Aspen Ave. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Lunch is served at noon; reservations are appreciated. There is a requested donation of $4 for members and $6 for nonmembers. Call 567-3988.
Seward Senior Center, 336 Third Ave. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Lunch is served at noon. The cost for those under 60 is $6.50 and there is a free-will donation of $3.50 for everyone over 60. Call 224-5604.
Sterling Senior Center, Mile 82 of the Sterling Highway. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Lunch is served at noon. There is a suggested donation of $4 for members and $6 for nonmembers. Call 262-6808.
