Fibromyalgia support available

The Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain support group meets the third Tuesday of the month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at The Kenai River Center on Funny River Road in Soldotna. Space is limited.

Philanthropists meeting slated

Impacting Together, a woman's organization dedicated to making a difference in the community will meet at 7 p.m. today at Soldotna City Hall. The group is seeking members.

Birders to meet

The Keen Eye Peninsula Birders will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at Marlow's on the Kenai. Bill Larned will be the guest speaker. Larned is in his 33rd year with Fish and Wildlife Service, most of the time as a waterfowl population assessment biologist/pilot, monitoring and assessing continental and regional waterfowl populations using mostly aerial survey techniques.

Krispy Kream doughnut fundraiser begins

Junior Achievement's Krispy Kream doughnut fundraiser has begun. The cost is $15 per dozen. Doughnuts will arrive May 15. Pre-orders are suggested as a limited amount of extras will be available for sale in front of Kaladi Brothers in Soldotna.

Proceeds will benefit local JA classes.

United Way seeks new agencies

The Kenai Peninsula United Way is accepting applications for new member agencies.

To qualify for admission, an agency must meet the following requirements: It must have a 501(c)(3) tax exempt status; must has been in operation on the peninsula for at least two years; must have an elected board of directors; and must provide a health and human service not offered by another local member agency.

If interested or for more information, contact the United Way office at 283-9500.

Completed applications with the required documentation must be submitted no later than May 2.

Cameras, photo printers sought

The Soldotna Rotary Club is seeking donations of working digital cameras and photo printers for the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District's art program. Equipment may be dropped off at Sweeney's Clothing or Joe Kashi's law office.
