James M. 'Jim' Murdock
Obituary

Longtime Alaskan and Kenai resident James M. "Jim" Murdock died Saturday, April 11, 2008, of natural causes at his home. He was 65.

At his request, no services are planned.

Mr. Murdock was born Oct. 13, 1942, in Detroit, Mich. He grew up and received his education in the Detroit area. He served in the U.S. Air Force beginning July 1960. He moved to Alaska in 1961. He served at Elmendorf Air Force Base hospital as a corpsman until his honorable discharge in July 1964. He then started Christian Construction, building custom homes.

"He has left this place to spend the rest of eternity with the true love of his life. He loved building things out of wood and he also loved his grandchildren," his family said.

Mr. Murdock was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Murdock.

He is survived by his son, Ken Murdock of Anchorage; daughters, Helen Igou of Nikolaevsk and Leah Maal of Kenai; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be sent to Ken Murdock, P.O. Box 100524, Anchorage, AK 99510.

Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
