Choices are up to us

A month ago Brittany West's column (Clarion Schools, Feb. 12) told of a future life as a result of decisions that where made and not made. I am thankful this young woman didn't abort her baby like 5,000 women/girls do each day because of bad sex. We all are faced with decisions daily that will affect our lives and others. Some are for good, some not.

I agree with Misty Knox advice and explanation of what's going on in our lives due to an influence from a worldly source „ Hollywood.

Our lives are being controlled by what we see on the TV, as being exciting, glamorous and life changing fun. It's all true, what they are saying because sin is all of the above: it's fun, exciting and life-changing.

The Bible is the only book about life/religion that is filled with examples „ people and all the sins/fun that mankind can ever commit „ and shows all the life-changing effects of those choices. The problem is people don't read it and learn how to possibly avoid these fun life-changing choices.

I am not saying Christians have all the answers, we have the one that counts, Jesus.

The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short. It says if we say we haven't sinned that we are liars. The Bible also says we have an advocate/lawyer „ Jesus Christ „ who stands up for us and defends us for our failures if we belong to him and confess or sins/failures.

As Misty said, helping people pay for doing fun things really isn't helping them. We are bombarded daily with choices for good or bad. As the governor of New York just resigned due to bad choices he made all for fun, and confessed that those choices have hurt many others, as well as himself. He stated one has to live with these choices and try to do better.

It may take long periods of time to get past our choices. Don't allow bad choices to drag you down resulting in even more bad choices. Stop the cycle. Don't help pay for or promote it.
