Don't be afraid of a crowd

  • Wear protective glasses to protect your eyes from flying hooks and sinkers.
  • Have appropriate tackle and footwear for the water you intend to fish.
  • Follow the unwritten rules. Each location has its own.
  • Watch others and don't be afraid to ask questions.
  • Be patient and courteous, especially when looking for a spot to fish.
  • Never take someone's spot.
  • When you hook a salmon, yell "fish on!"
  • When someone yells "fish on!" pull your line from the water and step back.
  • Land your fish quickly so others can resume fishing.
  • If someone has a fish on and your line becomes tangled with theirs, cut yours.
  • Help others but always ask permission before netting someone's fish
